Season of Joy Rios Azules Christmas Book 2 edition by Alexa Verde Religion Spirituality eBooks
Title: Season of JoyWritten By: Alexa Verde
Genre: Christian Contemporary Romance
Recommended Ages: 15 & up
Introduction:
Joy loves to travel. She loves the adventure, writing up articles, and the exotic places she gets to visit. But is she just running away from things? She can't keep a steady relationship. She doesn't think men really like her because she isn't super thin. And she lost her one true love shortly after high school when he married someone else.
Characters: 1/1
The characters were unique, fun, zany, and well-developed. I loved how she portrayed the various nuances of hurting people.
Dialogue: 1/1
The dialogue all seemed very realistic to the time period, geography, and each individual person. I especially loved Travis!
Plot/storyline: .5/1
The plot was good, though many times predictable. All the mishaps that happened got to be a little annoying after a while. I loved the ending!
Overall writing quality: 1/1
I did find a couple of minor typos, but otherwise, the writing was engaging, well done, and it certainly kept me on my toes. I loved how Alexa put God, the Bible, and Christianity into the story without it feeling preachy or pushy.
Un-put-down-ability: .75/1
I didn't ever really want to put the book down, but I of course had to.
Conclusion: 4.25/5
Though this book is set mostly around Christmas time, it can be read all year round. Being from Wisconsin, I kept forgetting it was set around Christmas because they were going to the beach, grilling outside, etc. In Wisconsin you wouldn't want to do any of those things at Christmas time. If you like sweet romances, you will like this book.

Season of Joy Rios Azules Christmas Book 2 edition by Alexa Verde Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
This storyline was heart felt and active at the same time. I have read many of Alexa Verdant books. The most have been short stories. Very glad to learn that she kept the longer stories moving. Thank You
This was a beautiful love story----I gave stars because the author did such an outstanding job with writing this story! The characters & the plot were both excellent--- I highly recommend this story to anyone!! If you are looking for a beautiful story without foul language & the sex that so many books have in them today you will enjoy this book!!
This story is about Joy, Dylan, Emma, Junior, Travis and more well developed characters. This story deals with self image, abandonment, drugs affecting family mambers and other life problems. I liked the story but felt it dragged just a little in a few spots. I received an ARC of this book and think many would gain some helpful encouragement.
Sweet, easy, and fun read! I enjoyed this second book just as much as I enjoyed the first! It has great lines like “sometimes it was difficult to navigate the deep sea named Parenting.” And “It’s not easy to live with regrets.” And I really love these lines “the spirit of Christmas isn’t just lights above your porch. It’s the light of faith…” It has wonderful themes of both Dylan & Joy learning to surrender their “will, worries, and fears to the Lord”, and especially of Joy learning to get over her fear of commitment. And the best thing is that there is another book coming out soon, so the reader gets to know more about Rios Azules and its wonderful people!
I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a clean Christian romance with emphasis on listening to the Lord's leading. Joy grew up listening to her mother who tried to make her into what she wanted her to be so she could live her life through her. Dylan grew up in a dysfunctional family and married for the wrong reasons. Joy returns to her hometown and she's constantly in situations bringing her closer to Dylan who she's loved all her life. She struggles with listening to her heart or the comments her mother has made all of her life. Dylan is realizing that he's loved Joy all his life also and now not just as a friend. Can these two get through the pain of their pasts and look to the future God has planned for them. This is a story of God's great love and following your heart not listening to the hurts of your past.
This is Book 2 in Author Alexa Verde’s Rios Azules Christmas series but can be read as a stand-alone. I haven’t read Book 1 but was able to understand what was happening. A few situations did refer back to Book 1, Season of Miracle, but it wasn’t confusing. However I now have to read Book 1 just because I enjoyed Book 2.
Verde addresses some tough situations in her story, including drug abuse, children being abandoned, and parents not seeing the value of their families. I like that she didn’t shy away from tough topics but wove them into the story, while portraying grace, mercy, and love.
The characters are very well developed and feel like they could be your neighbors. In spite of life’s challenges, or maybe because of them, they are really enjoyable to get to know.
The lesson throughout was very sound! God is always here, He loves us as we are, and He wants to heal our hurts. I think you’ll enjoy your time in Rios Azules!
A very good Christmas story that could be read anytime. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. I love
A very good Christmas story you can read anytime. This book is to hard to put down it is so good. Joy, Dylan, Travis and Junior are very loveable people. I loved how Joy, Travis and Junior connected to each other and loved that there Dad was falling for Joy. I loved how Joy and Dylan had feelings for each other but also saw the need to get to know each other and get closer to God. Setting good examples to the boys. Helping each other including the boys get through past problems and showing God's love to them. A wonderful Christian book showing family love and God's love. This is the kind of book I love to read and recommend it to anyone. Can't wait to get the 3rd book in this series.
